Since opening in 1994, Grayhawk Golf Club has become a popular location for local, regional, national and international tournaments. It's two 18-hole golf courses - Talon and Raptor - generally are considered among the finest in the Southwest and have gained a lion's share of honors during their relatively short histories.

Grayhawk has hosted a score of high-profile events and tournaments, a few of which include:

2000 Williams World Challenge - Tiger Woods' nationally televised charity golf tournament featuring 12 of the world's top professional golfers. Inaugural hosted by Grayhawk in 2000.
   
Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf - An internationally televised professional golf tournament hosted by Grayhawk in 1995, 1996 & 1998.
   
The Detour - An annual celebrity-amateur event and party hosted by Grayhawk and KMLE Radio. This event takes place in November of each year and was formerly known as "The Celebrity".
   
Thunderbird International Junior - This is a major event on the AJGA schedule and takes place in late May of each year. This competition attracts the top junior boys and girls from around the world and is sponsored by the The Thunderbirds and Grayhawk Golf Club.
