Program Director Grayhawk Calendar
Walkin' On Wednesday
Meet at 9 am to walk with neighbors in the community. All paces,
speed to snail, are welcome. If it rains, wait a week. For locations
of the Wednesday weekly walks call Sue at 473-9262.
Beautiful Bottles with Chef Jeff
Tuesday, February 9
Learn how to make the decorative bottles sold in stores for a fortune.
Chef Jeff Stortz will teach this class in the kitchen of the new
Fairway House from 4-6 pm. Bring your apron. It will be hands-on
and messy. Cost: $25 per person, limit of 10. We provide the bottles
and filling material.
Kostis McCord Learning Center Skills Clinic
Wednesday, February 10
KMLC will be teaching "the old game a new way" on the second Wednesday
of each month at Grayhawk Golf Club from 3-4 pm. Cost is $25 per
person. Maximum 10 people can participate. Call Alison to RSVP.
Meet with the Mayor
Friday, January 11
Citizen Cervice Center
Mayor Sam Campana will be at the Grayhawk Citizens Center from 4-6
pm., meeting with people by appointment only. To arrange for a meeting
call 312-7724.
Programs Committee Meeting
Thursday Fevbruary 18
The Programs Committee will meet at Phil's Grill at 5:30 pm for
Happy Hour. The committee's still needing representation are the
Newsletter and the Community Channel.
Block Watch Orientation
Tuesday, February 23
Now that many neighborhoods are built out I will try to organize
a Block Watch Program again. Officer Scott Reed will present an
orientation. To participate you need a captain and at least 50%
participation from your neighborhood. This is an excellent deterrent
to crime.
SlowPitch Softball Challenge
Sunday, February 21
This month the Hoosier Daddies beat the No-Shows, who put up a valiant
effort. Let's have more teams join the fun next month. Show up at
12:45. Games start at 1 pm. Register your team with Alison, and
I'll let you know what time you'll play.
Singles Scene for Seniors
Thursday, February 18
Meet at Phil's Grill at 6:30 pm to plan future activities and maybe
take in a movie. For more information call Les Kessler at 419-0911.
Expand your horizons..
The Mahjongg Group is headed by Leah Shovers. Interested? Contact
Leah at 563-3900. Bridge lessons? Jean Carney, a bridge professional
is willing to give lessons to those who want to learn this game. Two
classes will be taught, Beginners and Advanced. Cost is $100 for 8
two-hour lessons. I need a minimun of four players per class and a
home to host the lessons. Call Alison to sign up for this activity.
This month the Grayhawk Book Club will meet February 17 at 7 pm.
This month's reading selection is "Home Song" by LaVerle Spencer.
This will be hosted by Darlene Bengston. RSVP by calling 473-1657.
Community Kiosk
Thank you to Grayhawk residents for supporting our first New Year's
Eve Party. This gang knows how to have fun. Also, pictures are available
from the Holiday Party. Call Alison to view/purchase.
Become a Grayhawk Ambassador. Meet with new residents and welcome
them to our community. If you can help with this new program call
Alison.
Some of the participants in the Softball Challenge are interested
in Pick-up Softball Games at Grayhawk Park, Sundays at 8:30 am.
Bring your mitt, bat and ball staring Sunday the 7th.
DeAnna Jivan is ready to pass on the Babysitter Referral List.
This is an excellent way to ensure you know all the available babysitter
in the community. Call Alison if you are interested in taking this
on.

Development Update
Traffic Signals are being installed along Thompson Peak Parkway
at the intersections of Grayhawk Drive, Hayden Road, and 76th Street.
This will help alleviate the excessive speeds at which vehicles
travel through our community. They should be activated with in 60-90
days.
Association Update
The next Community Association Board of Director's Meeting will be
at 4 pm on Monday, February 1 at the Grayhawk Golf Club. You are welcome
to attend.
"For Sale" signs will not be allowed anywhere in the Grayhawk
Community. "Open House" signs will be allowed from 12-5 on Saturdays
and Sundays. One uniform sign per home. Please call Wendy for additional
information.
The Grayhawk HOA Annual Meeting will be March 18 at The Fairway
House. Notification of this meeting will be mailed to you.
FYI - I have reservations for 12 at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute
on March 10 at 6:30 pm. Call if you are interested in joining me.
